Situated in The High Country Region of Victoria, Merrijig Lodge offers a gateway to many activities, with two of Victoria’s favorite ski resorts, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling only 20 minutes by car away. The lodge is a cozy, affordable way to experience the mountains in summer and winter.

Merrijig Lodge, established and operated by Chris Dunlop since 1982, offers lodge style accommodation ideal for family groups, social clubs, schools and individuals alike.

With two main areas under the one roof, the lodge offers comfortable accommodation for up to 52 people. 

The cozy dinning room and the lounge area with wood fire provides an excellent place to relax whilst thegames room,  with pool table and table tennis provides an area for the more energetic.  You can also keep up with world events in the functional television room.


​Merrijig Lodge offers either fully catered or bed and breakfast packages. For those who wanting to do their own catering, we have a full semi-commercial kitchen as well as a large cool room.  So all you need to supply is your food.  Merrijig Lodge offers 24 hour – self serve tea and coffee for B&B customers.

The High Country offers loads of fun activities including but not limited to;

  • Horse Riding - available on site (dependant on minimum numbers and availability.)

  • Access to 3 unique trout streams for fishing

  • An extensive network of hiking trails

  • Mountain, trail and road cycling

Nearby historic and picturesque townships with beautiful scenery, tasty restaurants, artisan markets, golf and wine tasting are a great way to spend an afternoon. For the history buffs we are close to the famous Kelly Tree or explore the historic gold mine relics of the Howqua Valley.

Craig’s Hut made famous in the Man From Snowy River films is a stones throw away and offers a spectacular journey into the High Country, with an unbeatable vista.
